Split-T Management’s Stephan Shaw Takes Out Bernardo Marquez in First Round

NEW YORK (July 18, 2022)–Stephan Shaw made short work of Bernardo Marquez by scoring a first round stoppage of a scheduled eight-round heavyweight bout.

The bout took place on Friday night at The Pechanga Casino and Hotel in Temecula, California.

In the opening minute, Shaw dropped Marquez with a wicked combination that was punctuated by a left hook. Shaw dropped Marquez in with a heavy combination. Shaw ended things with another crunching combination that saw four hard rights and a body shot that sent Marquez down and out at 2:35.

“I saw him buck and shake, and I went for the finish. I got a little bit excited, but I settled and got him out of there.  I am looking for anything. It’s up to my team. I am willing to fight whoever and whenever,” said Shaw.

Shaw, 236.6 lbs of Saint Louis, MO is 17-0 with 13 knockouts. Marquez, 231.2 lbs of Imperial Valley, CA is 14-5-1.

Split-T Management’s Undefeated Heavyweight Stephan Shaw Battles Bernardo Marquez TONIGHT in Temecula, California

NEW YORK (July 15, 2022)–TONIGHT at The Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula, California, undefeated heavyweight Stephan Shaw will be back in action as he takes on Bernardo Marquez in a bout scheduled for eight-rounds.

Shaw, 29 years-old of Saint Louis, Missouri boasts an impressive mark of 16-0 with 12 knockouts.

Shaw, who is managed by Split-T Management is a nine-year professional who has wins over Danny Kelly (9-2-1), Jonny Rice (4-1-1), Donovan Dennis (12-3), Willie Jake Jr. (8-2-1), Gregory Corbin (15-2), Lyubomyr Pinchuk (12-1-1) and his bout when Shaw stopped former amateur champion Joey Dawejko in eight-rounds on January 29th in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Marquez of Imperial Valley, California has a very respectable record of 14-4-1 with 10 knockouts.

Marquez, 28, is a seven year pro, has wins over Oswaldo Ortega (1-0) & Daniel Arambuka (3-0). Marquez has won six-straight fights. In his latest outing, Marquez stopped Ernesto Zamora in the second round on October 2, 2021 in Sonora, Mexico.

The fight will be streamed live on ESPN+ at 7PM ET

Shaw, who is promoted by DiBella Entertainment and Top Rank, weighed 236.6 lbs. Marquez was 231.2 lbs.
