On August 20, 2022, Rodriguez stopped Frank Gonzalez (9-2) to win the WBO Latino Bantamweight title. ATLANTIC CITY, NJ–- This past Saturday night, Emmanuel Rodriguez remained undefeated with an eight-round unanimous decision over Sharone Carter that headlined a six-bout card at The Showboat Hotel Carousel Room.

The near-capacity crowd saw a show promoted by R and B Promotions.

Rodriguez of Newark, NJ won by scores of 78-74 twice and 77-75 and is now 13-0. Carter of Saint Louis, MO is 13-6.

Feargal McCrory remained undefeated with a 95 second knockout over Aeilo Mesquita in a scheduled eight-round lightweight bout.

McCrory dropped Mesquita with a right hand that sent him to the canvas for the 10-count.

McCrory of Northern Ireland is 13-0 with six knockouts. Mesquita of Brazil is 21-10-1.

Justin Figueroa remained undefeated by stopping Rahiem Davis Cooke at the end of round three of a scheduled four-round junior middleweight bout.

In round three, Figueroa dropped Cooke with a big combination that put Cooke on the canvas. Cooke’s corner stopped the fight after the round.

Figueroa of Atlantic City is 3-0 with three knockouts. Cooke of Philadelphia is 1-4.

Cali Box made a successful pro debut with a first-round stoppage over Davon Hall in a scheduled four-round cruiserweight bout.

Box hurt Hall several times with overhand rights during the round. Box landed a hard right that was followed by a left hook the ropes that forced a stoppage at 2:19.

Box, 184 1/2 lbs of Brick, NJ is 1-0 with one knockout. Hall 183.5 lbs of Wilmington, DE is 0-5.

In a spirited battle of pro debuting lightweights. Miguel Garcia won a four-round unanimous decision over Cristian Castro.

John Vallejo remained undefeated with a four-round unanimous decision over Angelo Thompson in a junior middleweight bout.

He most recently fought to a disputed split draw against former super welterweight champion Austin Trout on May 25.

A former IBF Lightweight World Champion, Easter (21-1-1, 14 KOs) won the belt with a split decision victory over current champion Richard Commey in 2016 at Santander Arena in Reading. The 28-year-old from Toledo, Ohio successfully defended the title three times before losing it to four-division world champion Mikey Garcia in a 2018 unification clash on SHOWTIME. He is coming off a split draw against Rances Barthelemy in his last fight on April 27 and will be making his super lightweight debut when he steps in against Granados at the site of his first world championship fight.

“I’m moving up to 140 pounds and I’ve been preparing really hard for this fight,” said Easter. “Expect me to come out and be very explosive on October 26. I anticipate Granados coming to fight like he always does. He’s a fighter who always comes prepared and puts his heart into it, but I’m going to do the same thing and show that I’m ready to make a statement in this division.”

The 30-year-old Granados (20-7-2, 14 KOs) has battled a slew of accomplished junior welterweights and welterweights over the course of his career including Shawn Porter, Adrien Broner and most recently Danny Garcia in April. The 30-year-old from Chicago will return to 140-pounds where he’s had most of the success in his career, including his 2015 stoppage of a then-unbeaten Amir Imam.

“I’m expecting a tough fight against Robert Easter Jr. on October 26,” said Granados. “Our styles mesh well. Easter is a sharp fighter and that’s why I’m giving it everything I have in training camp. I’m looking to bounce back from my last fight and show everyone that I still have a lot to give the sport of boxing. Easter is a technician in the ring but I’m a warrior and I’m going to come with everything that I have.”

Fighting out of his hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio, Warren (16-3, 4 KOs) is looking to climb back into the championship ranks, having won the WBA bantamweight title with a majority decision over Juan Carlos Payano in 2016. The 32-year-old lost the title to Zhanat Zhakiyanov by majority decision in 2017 and is coming off a decision loss to Nordine Oubaali in a January title clash. Warren won his first 13 pro fights after an amateur career that saw him represent the U.S. at the 2004, 2008 and 2012 Olympics.

“I’m ready to bounce back and prove I’m still one of the best bantamweights in the world,” said Warren. “This is a great fight for me to do that. After this fight I’m ready to get that belt back again because I miss it. I know these fighters can’t beat me when I’m at my best.”

The 27-year-old Rodriguez (19-1, 12 KOs) will also look to put himself back in position to reclaim a 118-pound belt with a win on October 26. Fighting out of Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, Rodriguez won the IBF Bantamweight World Title with a unanimous decision victory over Paul Butler in 2018 and defended it successfully against then-unbeaten Jason Moloney. He most recently was stopped by unbeaten champion Naoya Inoue in their May title bout.

Rodriguez, 25 years old of Newark, New Jersey by way of Quebradillas, Puerto Rico has a record of 3-0.

Rodriguez had an amateur career that saw him compile a record of 78-11, which included a being a New Jersey Golden Gloves Championship, three-time Diamond Gloves champion, two-time New Jersey state champion, two-time Puerto Rico national champion, Elite Heat champion and a bronze medal winner at the Wilfredo Gomez International Tournament.

He turned professional on April 22, 2017 with a four-round decision over Jaxel Morrero. In his last outing, Rodriguez won a four-round unanimous decision over Ndira Spearman on June 29th in Bensalem, Pennsylvania.

Atlantic City, New Jersey (May 31, 2018)–Super Middleweight contender Derrick “Take It To The Bank” Webster (25-1, 13 KOs) feels the time is now to take on the big boys of the division, but in order to secure a bout with a top contender or champion, he first must get by Oscar Riojas (16-9-1, 5 KOs) of Monterrey, Mexico in the 10-round main event this Friday night at The Claridge Hotel.

Webster of Glassboro, New Jersey has been working hard in the gym as he prepares for this most important bout.

“I have had an amazing camp, I have been getting great work and seeing different looks,” said Webster, who has been working under the guidance of his long-time trainer Denny Brown.

In Riojas, he is facing a battle-tested veteran who has taken on seven undefeated opponents as well as 2 world title challengers.

“I know he has fought Brandon Robinson. Robinson is a close friend to me, and what I saw in that fight is that Robinson hit hIm with some good shots, and I don’t know how he withstood them. Riojas came in after another opponent fell out for me. The funny thing is that he thinks that he can beat me, but on June 1st, he will know that he does not belong in the same ring as me.”

Webster has been looking for a signature fight in the suddenly hot 168-pound division, and after this fight on Friday, Webster will be looking to make his mark.

“I am ranked number-5 in the USBA, so maybe someone for that belt or the NABF. I have to fight for the bigger regional titles as a pathway to the world championship. I have been kasking for Groves after he gets done with the WBSS Tournament or WBA champion Tyrin Zeuge. I would also like to take on WBO champion Gilberto Ramirez.”

This is a special weekend for Atlantic City Boxing as the Atlantic City Boxing Hall of fame will have it’s 2nd induction weekend, and may of the legends of the sport will be in attendance to watch Webster fight.

In a eight-round bout, Prince Badi Ajamu (28-4-1, 15 KOs) of Camden, NJ rematches Edgar Perez (7-24, 3 KOs) of Chicago in a cruiserweight bout.

Carlos Rodriguez of Louisville, Kentucky will make his pro debut will fight Eliot Brown (1-4, 1 KO) of Erie, PA in a lightweight bout.

Emmanuel Rodriguez (2-0) of Newark, NJ will fight pro debuting Danzel Bowling of Baltimore in a super flyweight bout.

Lester Brown (3-0-1, 1 KO) of the Bahamas will fight David Payne (0-1) of Maryland in a lightweight bout.

Isaiah Hart of Atlantic City will make his pro debut against Leon DeShields (0-3) of Philadelphia in a middleweight bout.

Atlantic City, New Jersey (May 16, 2018)–Rising super middleweight contender Derrick Webster will headline a great night of boxing on Friday, June 1st at The Claridge Hotel when he takes tough veteran Oscar Riojas in a ten-round bout for the ABF Super Middleweight Title in the main event of a nine bout card.

The show, which will coincide with The Atlantic City Boxing Hall of Fame weekend, is promoted by Mis Downing Promotions.

Webster of Glassboro, New Jersey has a record of 25-1 with 13 knockouts.

The 35 year-old is a nine-year veteran, and is riding a six-bout winning streak.

Webster, who has wins over Frankie Fillipone (22-5-1), Thomas Awimbono (25-5-1), Obodai Sai (23-1), is coming off an eight-round unanimous decision over Francisco Cordero (38-9) on February 10th in Philadelphia.

This will be Webster’s 5th bout in Atlantic City.

Riojas of Monterrey, Mexico has a record of 16-9-1 with five knockouts.

The 34 year-old Riojas is a five year professional who won his first 11 bouts. Riojas has been in the ring with title challengers Ronald Gavril, Vyacheslav Shabranskyy as well as undefeated fighters Conrad Cummings, Immanuwel Aleem, Francy Ntetu, Enrique Collazo & Ronald Ellis.

Riojas is coming off dropping an eight-round unanimous decision to Brandon Robinson on April 6th in Philadelphia.

In the special co-feature bout, Isiah Seldon of Atlantic City will take on Lamar Harris in a middleweight bout scheduled for six-rounds.

The bout will kick off an historic weekend for Seldon, as his father, the former WBA Heavyweight champion of the world Bruce Seldon will be inducted into the Atlantic City Boxing Hall of Fame.

The 29 year-old Seldon has a record of 11-1-1 with four knockouts.

The eight-year professional is unbeaten in his last five bouts. In his last bout, Seldon got a disputed draw against Rudy Lozano on February 11th in Humble, Texas.

Harris of St. Louis, Missouri has a record of 9-14-4 with five knockouts.

The 33 year-old is a 13 year-professional who has faced top opposition who has a win over undefeated Earl Walker (7-0). Harris has also shared the ring with 12 undefeated fighters, which includes former world champion Shawn Porter and former world title challenger Matt Korobov.

Harris is coming off being stopped in 2 rounds by Webster on August 5, 2017 in Atlantic City.

SAN DIEGO, CALIF. – April 12, 2018 -Paul Butler gets the chance to become two-time IBF World Bantamweight champion when he tackles undefeated Emmanuel Rodriguez at The O2 in London on May 5, live on AWE-A Wealth of Entertainment.

Butler’s clash with Rodriguez is part of a huge night of action in Greenwich as Heavyweight rivals Tony Bellew and David Haye clash in a hotly-anticipated rematch.

Butler landed the IBF strap in April 2014 by taking it from Stuart Hall in Newcastle before vacating the strap to move down to Super-Flyweight in March 2015 to challenge IBF champion Zolani Tete.

The ‘Baby Faced Assassin’ returned to 118lbs and back into title contention when he comfortably saw off Hall in a rematch in Liverpool in September, and is rated at four in the IBF, one spot behind top-rated Rodriguez.

The unbeaten 25 year old visitor is hotly-rated having raced to 17-0 in the paid ranks with 12 wins inside the distance, a rise all the more impressive following an amateur background that was stunted by a car accident.

Rodriguez’s trip to London is his first outside the Americas since turning pro and his first over the championship distance, and Butler intends to make the trip a miserable one for the Puerto Rican and reclaim his title.

“I’m very excited for this,” said Butler. “It’s the reason we came over to Eddie in the first place, I knew he would deliver the big fights for me. We’re just four weeks away. It’s a big test but I’m confident.

“It’s an honor to contest the IBF title again. I want to win it back then hopefully defend which I didn’t have the chance to do last time.

“It sounded a good idea at the time to vacate but looking back now I should have kept hold of the belt. I should have worked on my strength and conditioning, filled out and defended my title. I’ve definitely got some unfinished business with this – it would be brilliant to go out there and win it again.

“It’s a tougher test the last time I won the title, but I’m up for the challenge. I’ve improved myself. He’s touted to be this next big superstar, but how many of them come over here and get turned on their heads?

“I never used to look at my opponents, but since I’ve linked up with Joe he’s always sending me little clips. He looks a good kid, he likes to work at midrange but in truth I don’t want to say too much about what he does and doesn’t do well.

“I don’t care how big and tough he is – we both have two arms, two legs, he’s from Puerto Rico and I’m from Ellesmere Port so let’s get it on. I can see this being a very good fight, we both like to go body to head, head to body but I’ll come out being the two-time IBF World Bantamweight champion.”
