SLOAN, Iowa (July 19, 2018) – Undefeated welterweight prospect Jaron Ennis and fellow unbeaten Armando Alvarez made weight on Thursday for their 10-round main event matchup tomorrow/Friday on ShoBox: The New Generation live on SHOWTIME® (10 p.m. ET/PT) from WinnaVegas Casino in Sloan, Iowa.

Ennis (20-0, 18 KOs), a former National Golden Gloves Champion, is a highly-touted prospect from Philadelphia taking a major step-up in opposition against Alvarez (13-0, 7 KOs), who has knocked out six of his last seven opponents. Ennis, who has knocked out his last 10 opponents, will make his television debut in Friday’s main event.

Undefeated lightweight prospects Thomas Mattice (12-0, 10 KOs) and Zhora Hamazaryan (9-0, 6 KOs) will meet in the eight-round co-feature. Mattice returns to ShoBox for the second time after debuting on the series in February. Hamazaryan faces Mattice in only his second fight in the U.S. The Armenian native, who calls former IBF Junior Welterweight Champion Sergey Lipinets a sparring partner, won his U.S. debut in February against the previously unbeaten Sergio Ramirez.

In the opening bout of the telecast, undefeated super lightweight prospects Montana Love (11-0, 5 KOs) and once-beaten Kenneth Simms Jr. (12-1, 4 KOs) both return to the series when they face off in an eight-round clash. Love returns to ShoBox for the second time and Simms will fight for the third time after losing his undefeated record on the series a year ago. The two meet again after facing each other as teenagers.

JARON ENNIS vs. ARMANDO ALVAREZ – 10-Round Welterweight Bout
Ennis will debut on ShoBox following a statement second round knockout of former junior welterweight contender Mike Arnaoutis earlier this month, his 10th consecutive KO victory. The Philadelphia native had a standout amateur career, notching an impressive record of 58-3 and winning the 2015 National Golden Gloves tournament. Ennis, who was ranked No. 1 as an amateur at 141 pounds, narrowly missed the opportunity to represent the U.S. in the 2016 Olympics after losing a box-off to Gary Antuanne Russell at the Olympic Trials.

“This is the opportunity I have been waiting for,” Ennis said. “I can’t wait to show the world my talent.”

Just 20 years old, Ennis currently trains under his father Derek “Bozy” Ennis Sr., who also trained his other sons Derek Jr. and Farah. The 5-foot-10 Ennis will be the third brother to appear on ShoBox; Derek Jr. appeared on the series in 2007, and Farah faced Badou Jack on the series in 2013.

“A win on this platform would mean everything,” Ennis continued. “From here on out, I want to fight only the big names in the division. The 28-year-old Alvarez turned professional in 2014 and has gradually increased his level of opposition. Alvarez, who now lives in Key West, compiled a 26-4 amateur record and won the Florida State Championship in 2013. His headlining fight with Ennis will be his second fight of 2018 and by far his toughest test to date.

“This is the biggest opportunity I have ever received,” Alvarez said. “This is it. It’s on. Ennis is a great young fighter, but I think he has stepped out of his league. He is just a kid. The world will find out who Armando Alvarez is on July 20.”

THOMAS MATTICE vs. ZHORA HAMAZARYAN – Eight-Round Lightweight Bout
A 27-year-old from Cleveland, Mattice turned pro in 2014 and had an amateur record of 72-18. He was a three-time Ohio State Golden Gloves Champion and bronze medal winner in the USA National Tournament in 2014.

Mattice will be making his second ShoBox appearance following a strong debut Feb. 2, when the undefeated lightweight rallied from behind to score a seventh round TKO of ShoBox veteran Rolando Chinea. Mattice has recorded five straight KOs and nine overall in 11 professional fights.

“I am excited for the opportunity to showcase my talent again on ShoBox,” Mattice said. “I’m going to go out there and do what I did before. I’m going to get a win, hopefully in knockout fashion. This guy (Hamazaryan) doesn’t know what he’s getting himself into.”

Undefeated lightweight prospect Hamazaryan, who signed with Banner Promotions and Thompson Boxing in February, is originally from Armenia but fights out of Los Angeles. Part of a long line of Armenian fighters who have fought in the U.S., Hamazaryan won his U.S. debut on Feb. 16, when he scored a unanimous decision win over the previously unbeaten Sergio Ramirez. Prior to his win against Ramirez, all of Hamazaryan’s victories were earned in Russia.

The 22-year-old was considered the No. 1 fighter in Armenia after an amateur career that spanned over 200 fights. Hamazaryan turned professional in 2015, turning down an opportunity to fight for the Armenian Olympic Team in 2016.

“This fight is very important for me, and I am very excited to be fighting on national television in America,” Hamazaryan said. “I know [Mattice] is undefeated but I normally don’t look at my opponent. I’m just looking to put on a great performance and make a statement for fans in the U.S.”

MONTANA LOVE vs. KENNETH SIMS JR. – Eight-Round Super Lightweight Bout
Cleveland native Love was an accomplished amateur who compiled a 174-13 record and won a bronze medal at the 2012 National Golden Gloves Championships. The 22-year-old recently sparred with Adrien Broner, and served as head sparring partner for Robert Easter Jr. before his lightweight title defense against Javier Fortuna on Jan. 20.

Love has won two consecutive bouts against lesser opposition since defeating Samuel Teah in his ShoBox debut on Feb. 2.

“I am excited and happy to be back,” Love said. “I want to put on another great performance. Sims and I grew up as amateurs together. He’s a good fighter, but I am hungry and want to keep rolling. I can’t let anything get in my way.”

Chicago native Sims makes his return to ShoBox just over a year after suffering the first loss of his career against Rolando Chinea via close majority decision in what was his toughest test to date. The 24-year-old Sims, who has sparred with Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, was a 2013 U.S. National Amateur Champion and a 2012 Olympic Trials semifinalist.

PHILADELPHIA – Twenty year old welterweight boxer Jaron “Boots” Ennis will honored as “The One to Watch” at the 11th Annual Briscoe Awards on March 25, 2018. Ennis, currently 18-0, 16 KOs, has been turning heads ever since he turned professional in 2016. January 22, 2018 – Victory and Now Boxing Promotions’ prospects are staying busy in the new year. The promotions’ top prospect, Jaron “Boots” Ennis (17-0, 15KO) is back in action this Friday, January 26th in his hometown of Philadelphia. The 20 year old boxer, widely considered the best prospect in Philadelphia, will appear on the Real Deal Boxing card at Sugarhouse Casino. Brian Norman Jr., son of super middleweight Brian Norman (17-11, 5KO) of Atlanta, won in his professional debut in Houston on Saturday, and Christian Montano advanced to 4-0 (4KO) on the same card. All three fighters are managed by Cameron Dunkin and promoted by Chris Middendorf of Victory Boxing Promotions, and Joseph Dunkin of Now Boxing Promotions.

Welterweight Brian Norman, Jr., who is trained by his father, dropped Kire Lucas (0-3) with a body shot before finishing him with another body shot in one minute, 31 seconds of the first round. Montano also finished his opponent in the first round, stopping the experienced Keith Collins with a hook to the body, and straight right to the head at the 1:06 mark.

This Friday, “Boots” will face rugged Mexico City talent Gustavo Garibay (13-9, 5KO), who is the Mexican Super Welterweight Champion, and is a former WBC Latino Super Welterweight Champion. It’s the second fight in the United States for Garibay, his last being a loss to Zhankosh Turarov (22-0, 15KO) in Boca Raton.

Ennis, who trains with his father, former fighter Derrick “Bozy” Ennis in Philadelphia, last fought in December at the 2300 Arena, where he knocked out George Sosa inside of two rounds. The young pugilist is moving quickly, and fought nine times in 2017. Ennis is three months shy of his 21st birthday. Dunkin and Middendorf may not get him to 21 wins by his 21st birthday, but both feel certain that 2018 will be the real ‘coming out’ year for the young talent.

“We always like to have Boots fight at home,” said Victory Boxing Promotions founder and Promoter Christopher Middendorf. “He’s getting great experience with veterans like Garibay. This is the first champion-caliber fighter he’s faced, and we’ll get to see how he handles that. I’m hoping the Philly boxing fans get out to support him.”

The King’s Promotions event featured the continued ascension of world-ranked junior middleweight Tyrone Brunson. Brunson stopped Manny Woods in eight rounds to capture the UBF International title.

The co-feature was a Philadelphia showdown of super middleweights that saw Brandon Robinson win a unanimous decision over Christopher Brooker for the UBF All Americas Super Middleweight title.

The show was kicked off with a scintillating performance by rising star Jaron Ennis as he took out George Sosa in two rounds.

Philadelphia, PA (December 5, 2017) – Last Friday night Tyrone Brunson stopped Manny Woods to win the UBF International Junior Middleweight title after eight-rounds of a scheduled ten-round bout in front of a sold out crowd at the 2300 Arena.

The exciting 12-bout card was promoted by King’s Promotions.

Brunson of Philadelphia systematically broke down woods as he boxed well using a pinpoint jab over the first half of the fight. In round six, Brunson started landing hard power punches and began to stagger Woods. Finally after round eight, the corner of Woods pulled the plug on the bout, and Brunson scored his 3rd straight win.

Brunson is now 26-6-2 with 24 knockouts. Woods of Saint Petersburg, Florida is 16-7-1.

In the co-feature Brandon Robinson scored the biggest win of his career by winning an eight-round unanimous decision over Christopher Brooker to win the UBF All Americas super middleweight title.

Robinson got the better of the action as he cut Brooker in 2 places around the left eye. Brooker tried to get back in the fight over the last couple rounds, but it was Robinson’s boxing and power punches that propelled him to the victory by 80-72, 79-73 and 78-74.

Robinson of Philadelphia is 8-1. Brooker of Philadelphia is 12-5.

Jaron Ennis took out George Sosa at 1:09 of round two of a scheduled eight-round welterweight bout.

The top prospect, Ennis scored two knockdowns and the fight was stopped at 1:09 of round two.

Ennis of Philadelphia is now 17-0 with 15 knockouts. Sosa of Reading, PA is 15-11-1.

Omar Douglas made short work of Isais Martin Gonzales by scoring a 1st round stoppage in a scheduled six-round super featherweight bout.

The time of the bout was 1:52 for Douglas of Wilmington, Delaware, who raised his mark to 18-2 with 13 knockouts. Gonzales falls to 22-10.

Kyrone Davis won an eight-round unanimous decision over Jamie Barboza in a middleweight bout.

Davis of Wilmington, Delaware took all cards in shutout fashion (Barboza was deducted points on two occasions) by scores of 80-70, and he is now 13-1. Barboza is 19-13.

Joe Hanks won a six-round unanimous decision over previously undefeated Joel Cauldle in an entertaining heavyweight bout.

Hanks landed the harder shots and was more active against the game Caudle.

Scores were 60-54 twice and 58-56 for Hanks, of Newark, NJ and he is now 22-2. Caudle of Raleigh, North Carolina is 7-1-1.

Marcus Banks boxed very well for five-plus rounds and then finished off Antonio Rodriguez in the 6th and final round of their super bantamweight bout.

A body shot dropped and stopped Rodriguez at 2:37 of round six, and Bates of Washington, DC is now 8-0-1 with seven knockouts. Rodriguez of Mexico is 11-20-1.

Philadelphia, PA (November 29, 2017) – They fought as amateurs, and are both considered among the best super middleweights in the city.

This Friday night, Brandon Robinson and Christopher Brooker meet as professionals in what could shape up to be an explosive co-feature bout of a 12 fight card at the
2300 Arena in Philadelphia.

The eight-round bout is for the UBF All-Americas title.

The loaded show is promoted my King’s Promotions.

The main event will pit Tyrone Brunson (25-6-2, 23 KOs) against Manny Woods (16-6-1, 6 KOs) of Saint Petersburg, Florida in a junior middleweight bout scheduled for ten rounds.

“Training has been great. This has been the best camp that I have had since turning professional hands down,” said Robinson.

Although this could be a breakthrough fight for 29 year-old Robinson, He has been looking at Brooker no different than any previous foe.

“I look at every fight as a big fight. I see each fight as if I am fighting Canelo or Golovkin, so I get my self in the best shape I can be.”

Being that they are in the same city, there is the aforementioned history between the two fighters.

“We fought as amateurs, and I won that fight. Since the, we have sparred a couple times, and that has given me a great scouting report on him, and let’s just say I feel very comfortable going into this fight.”

Fighting against another Philly fighter is nothing new for Robinson as he already has a victory over Lamont McLaughlin.

“I have been through this, and these kind of fights bring out the best of me, and with a win on Friday, this will open up many doors for me that I never expected to be opened. I am looking for a complete performance, The fans will see power in both hands, craftiness, ring generalship and a huge heart. For the 26 year-old Brooker, he has been here before but he wants to get back in the win column after losing to undefeated Light Heavyweight Ahmed Elbiali in a fight that he took on short notice on July 18th.

“I got right back in the gym after that fight. I been working for 12 weeks. I have a new personal trainer Jermaine Clark and my new trainer Octavio Pineda,” said Brooker.

Brooker does not believe that the amateur loss to Robinson means anything going into Friday night.

“Yea, it does not mean anything. It was my 3rd amateur fight. The sparring sessions were good. I treated them like I wanted to get some revenge for losing to him, and I am very confident after those sessions. This fight for me is about getting this belt . People will see me outwork him and outclass him.”

Brooker has made his name throughout the boxing circles with his willing to fight and defeat anybody at anytime. That is evidenced by his wins over Leo Hall, John Magda, Antowyan Aikens and Gabriel Pham. Brooker also stepped up to face Elbiali, Ronald Gavril and Ronald Ellis, and he became a favorite on national television because of his tough as nails style.

“Robinson is just another guy in front of me. I been in and defeated much more experienced fighters then him. He has not have anything that I have not seen in the ring. I am not looking past him, I am looking through him. I was beating Gavril before the fight was unjustly stopped. He went on to barely lose in a bid for a world title and now he is getting a rematch with him, so that just shows what level I am on. I want that rematch or (WBC Champion) David Benevidez.”
