Reading, PA (September 20, 2022)– This Friday night, popular and local bantamweight Jonathan Rodriguez will take on tough veteran Oscar Vazquez in the main event of a tremendous night of professional boxing on Friday, September 23rd at The Wind Creek Events Center in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. 

The card is promoted by King’s Promotions.

Rodriguez of Bethlehem, has a record of 10-1-1 with three knockouts. The 23 year-old is a four-year professional, and will be looking for his biggest win of his career, and doing it in front of his hometown fans.

This will be his fifth appearance at The Events Center, and he is coming off a six-round unanimous decision over Jose Flores Canez on March 11th at The Wind Creek Events Center.

Vazquez of Sun Valley, Nevada is 15-3-1 with three knockouts. The 35 year-old has a win over Jose Toribio (6-1), and is now looking to get back in the win column after losing a unanimous decision to undefeated Ja’Rico Quinn on January 17, 2020 in Sloan, Iowa.

A slew of King’s Promotions undefeated prospects will be featured in undercard bouts.

In a eight-round lightweight co-feature, surging lightweight James Bernadin takes on an opponent to be named 

Bernadin of Lancaster, Pennsylvania is 7-0-1 with four knockouts. The 29 year-old has been matched tough and has come through with flying colors as he has defeated Osvaldo Morales (4-0), Edgar Torres (8-2-1) and his bout when he took a unanimous decision over Kenny Robles (9-1) on May 20th in Philadelphia.

Also in an eight-round bout will be undefeated junior middleweight Joseph Jackson taking on Anthony Lenk.

Jackson of Greensboro, North Carolina is 17-0 with 13 knockouts. Jackson, 33 has defeated Monreco Goldston (5-0-1) and a nationally televised win over Derrick Colemon Jr. (11-0). In Jackson’s last bout, he stopped Terrance Williams in the opening round on June 5, 2021 in Philadelphia.

Lenk of Niagara Falls, New York is 17-9 with seven knockouts. Lenk, 34, has quality wins over Rufino Flores (1-0),Danny Escobar (6-0), Boyd Henley (8-0-1) and Edwin Soto (13-2-2). Lenk is coming off a 10-round defeat to Ian Green on June 11th in Miami.

In a six-round bout, Julian Gonzalez (6-0-1, 6 KOs) of Reading, PA takes on Rondale Hubbert (14-23-3, 8 KOs) of Duluth, Minnesota in a lightweight contest.

Also in a six-round bout, undefeated light heavyweight, Joseph George (11-0, 7 KOs) of Houston, Texas takes on an opponent to be named.

In Four-round bouts, 

Thanjhae Teasley (3-0, 2 KOs) of Allentown, PA takes on Maycon Oller Di Silva (1-6, 1 KO) of Concord, New Hampshire in a welterweight bout.

Reading, PA (August 1, 2020)–.TONIGHT at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut, King’s Promotions will be featured prominently as three members of the
promotional outfit will see action on a SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING tripleheader.

In the televised co-feature, it will be a rematch of King’s Promotions super bantamweight’s as WBA Number-13 ranked Raeese Aleem (16-0, 10 KOs) and WBA Number-eight ranked Marcus Bates (11-1-1, 8 KOs) square off in a WBA Elimination contest.

In the televised opener, Joseph George (10-0, 6 KOs) will look to repeat the outcome of his November 15th battle with Marcos Escudero (10-1, 9 KOs) as the two will square off in a 10-round light heavyweight bout.

Raeese Aleem

The fights, which begin at 9 PM ET / 6 PM PT, will be headlined by the WBO Super Bantamweight title bout featuring Angelo Leo taking on Tramaine Williams.

“We have three of our fighters in two big rematches. The winners of each fight set themselves up for huge opportunities in their next fight. At Friday’s weigh-in, both Aleem and Bates weighed 121 1/4 lbs.

George was 174 1/4 lbs while Escudero was 173 1/2.

RA’EESE ALEEM

“My first fight against Marcus was a good fight, I believe I won every round. That was my first fight back after a two-and-a-half-year layoff. I just couldn’t get a fight and he accepted the challenge at that time. I gave him his first loss and you always remember your first loss. I’m sure he thinks about me at night.

“Facing a new opponent on late notice doesn’t take away from my aggression, if anything it amps it up. I’m probably going to be more aggressive, if anything, because it is more of a grudge match. The first time that I fought him, head-to-head, I beat him fair and square and he has the audacity to say that something was up with his water or whatever. Real fighters don’t make excuses and that’s exactly what he has done. He called me out and told people I was scared to fight him. Well, now he gets his chance and it’s going to be more than what he bargained for.”

MARCUS BATES

“I’ve been working hard to get to where I’m at and everybody who boxes dreams of being a world champion. For this to fall into place at this point of my career, I think it’s perfect timing a perfect opportunity. I’ve wanted the rematch with Aleem and I couldn’t get it, so for us to get the rematch on SHOWTIME is great. If I win this, I will be in position to fight for a world title and every boxer’s dream is to get a belt.

Marcus Bates

“Even though there was a chance I wouldn’t be fighting, I came here expecting to fight. I didn’t come all the way up here just to go home without a fight. Once they told me I was definitely fighting and it was going to be a rematch to the only guy I’ve lost to, I was very excited. I always wanted to fight him again after I lost to him so I’m so excited.”

JOE GEORGE

“I’m in better shape for this fight compared to our first fight. We’re working on fighting off of the ropes better and fighting in the center of the ring more effectively.

“A knockout is always good, but I like to take it one round at a time. If the knockout comes, it comes, and we’re going to take advantage. I’ve been dropping fighters in camp, so the chance of a knockout is pretty high.

“He was an okay opponent. He had a chin and was in shape. His punches weren’t effective though. I made sure my punches landed and I hurt him a few times, I just couldn’t really finish him.

Joseph George

“This fight will be different because I’m going to work off the ropes more instead of letting him gain momentum with his punches. Last fight was just him being really active and having a good chin -that’s all that stopped him from getting knocked out. If I was in better shape, I could have finished him. If I get the opportunity this fight, I’ll finish it.

“I expect to see a slight difference in Escudero. If you change trainers, then you should have made some changes. I had a good hard camp and whatever he brings, I’ll be ready for it.

“Some people think that Escudero won, and that’s their opinion. But I knew what I was doing. He wasn’t effective. I think just by me being on the ropes it made some people think that I was losing. But for me, I’m very comfortable fighting on the ropes.

“I didn’t really spar with people my weight in camp, it was either with heavyweights or guys who are lighter. The lighter guys helped with my speed and the heavyweights helped with my power. It worked out perfectly and I got the best of both worlds.

“My manager Trent Williams is a young athlete so he knows how this goes. He knows the things to do and what to say. You never see him angry or frustrated, the only time he’s aggressive is when he’s training or on the field. His work ethic is incredible and that’s motivation in itself. He’s a great role model and I learn a lot from watching him.”

Bethlehem, PA (November 18, 2018) –This past Friday night, Three-time Olympian Anvar Yunusov remained perfect by stopping Jose Salinas in the 7th round of their scheduled eight-round junior lightweight bout the headlined a nine-bout card at
The Sands Bethlehem Event Center.

The show was promoted by King’s Promotions.

Yunusov, who competed in the 2008, 2012 and 2016 Olympics for his native country Tajikistan, dominated the action, and finally broke Salinas down in the 7th frame.

With the win, Yunusov, who now resides in Philadelphia has a record of 6-0 with three knockouts.

Salinas of Las Cruces, New Mexico falls to 10-4-1.

“We are thrilled with Anvar’s performance. Salinas had fought and defeated some credible opponents, and Anvar fought very well, and we are excited for what 2019 will hold for him,” said Marshall Kauffman of King’s Promotions.

In the co-feature, debuting Jeffrey Torres thrilled his hometown fans with a four-round unanimous decision over Steven Lopez in a bantamweight contest.

Torres of Bethlehem is 1-0. Lopez of Philadelphia is 0-3.

Big heavyweight, Michael Coffie remained undefeated by stopping veteran Jamaal Woods.

Despite his record, Woods was game, but the 277 pound Coffie was too much and finally got his foe out of there at 2:50 in the 4th frame.

Coffie of Brooklyn is 6-0 with five knockouts. Woods of Forest City, Arkansas is 18-44-7.

Joseph George took a six-round unanimous decision from Josue Obando in a light heavyweight bout.

George of Houston is now 8-0. Obando of Mexico gave a good effort, but is now 16-25-1.

Christian Montano needed just 2:05 of the 1st round to take out Paul Holley in their scheduled six-round cruiserweight bout.

Montano scored three knockdowns, with the final coming from a hard body shot.

Montano of Houston is 8-0 with seven knockouts. Holley falls to 6-2-1.

Alejandro Jimenez remained undefeated with a four-round unanimous decision over Desmond Moore in a battle of previously undefeated bantamweights.

Jimenez of New Hope, PA is 4-0. Moore of Allentown, PA is 1-1-1.

Good looking bantamweight prospect Yeuri Andujar made it two straight stoppage victories with a 1st round stoppage over debuting Haziz Self of Philadelphia.

Andujar of Reading, PA is 2-0 with both wins coming early.

In a fight heavyweight conetst featuring previously undefeated light heavyweight, Travis Toledo took an entertaining four-round majority decision over Kendall Cannida.

Both guys had their moments in the spirited brawl, but it was Toledo who came away with the victory to raise his mark to 3-0. Cannida of Philadelphia drops to 2-1.

Vincent Floyd used two 1st round knockdowns to catapult himself to a four-round unanimous decision over Ricky Nuno in a welterweight clash.

Nuno made a great effort after the 1st round, but he dug himself too far of a hole to catch Floyd.

Floyd of Philadelphia is 4-5-1. Nuno of Bethlehem is 2-2.

Yunusov, who competed in the 2008, 2012 and 2016 Olympics for his native Tajikistan, is now 5-0 with two knockouts as a professional.

The 31 year-old fights out of Philadelphia, and turned professional in 2017. He has registered his two knockouts in his last two outings with a 4th round stoppage over former contender Mike Oliver, and in his lat bout when he destroyed Angel Monreal in one-round on September 14th in Philadelphia.

Salinas of Las Cruces, New Mexico, has a record of 10-3-1 with five knockouts.

The 28 year-old Salinas is a six-year professional who has wins over undefeated Rafael Casas (2-0), and the highly regarded Dardan Zenunaj (12-1).

Salinas is coming off a loss to undefeated Erick De Leon (14-0) on January 27, 2017 in Studio City, California.
