PHILADELPHIA, PA (MARCH 16, 2014)–This past Friday night in Philadelphia, two fighters under the Battlestrong Boxing management stable scored impressive victories including undefeated 17-year phenom,Milton Santiago Jr. (3-0) scored an impressive 4-round unanimous decision over William Lorenzo while comeback Derek “Pooh” Ennis (24-4-1) scored a 6-round unanimous decision over Emil Gonzalez.

17-Year Old phenom Milton Santiago Jr. turns pro on Friday February 7th at the National Guard Armory in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (JANUARY 28, 2014)–On Friday night, February 7th Greg Robinson’s Power Productions will present a special night of professional boxing at the National Guard Armory in Northeast Philadelphia.

In the special 4-round main event, 17 year-old Milton Santiago Jr. will make his anticipated pro debut against Moses Molina in a Jr. Welterweight bout.

Santiago of Warminster, Pennsylvania had an amateur record of 184-12 and won a staggering 59 tournaments is ready for the occasion.

“I feel great and this is a dream come true. I believe that I am the youngest professional in Pennsylvania.”

Santiago has been preparing with professionals and is not worried about going into the paid ranks.

“I spar with a lot of professionals,” said Santiago. “They are all grown men and I beat them up. I feel I am very strong and I am ready to turn pro.”

Santiago started boxing at 5-years old and had his first fight at 8.

The Junior at William Tennant High School is will have some support from the faculty from the school.

“My English teach will be at the fight. When some of my teachers found out what I do, they were happy for me and shocked. Boxing helps a lot with school because it helps me stay focused with both studying and boxing.”

Santiago says he likes watching Floyd Mayweather, Andre Ward, Guillermo Rigondeaux and Felix Trinidad.

He also receives a lot of moral support and advice from some of the top professionals in Philadelphia.

“Hassan Young gives me good advice but I also talk with Jesse Hart, Bryant Jennings and Danny Garcia as well.”

Outside of the ring, Santiago is your typical kid as he enjoys playing video games with his brothers and playing sports in the neighborhood.

“I have been wanting to turn pro for a while now and I can not wait until February 7th.”

His dad, Milton Santiago Sr. is his trainer and explains his reasons for his son get the special dispensation to turn pro.

“This would have been his last year with headgear in the amateurs anyway. After January 1st, he would have had to fight without it.”, said the older Santiago.

“He isn’t your typical 17-year old. He spars very well with the older professionals. There have been promoters who told me they could not believe he is 17. He is so relaxed in the ring. To him it is just like unwrapping a candy bar. In fact sometimes in the corner, he has to tell me to calm down.”

Santiago will fight this fight at the 140-pound eight limit but he plans to campaign as a Lightweight.

In six round bouts:

Anthony Flores (9-4-1, 6 KO’s) of Philadelphia battles Ramesis Gil (8-7-5, 5 KO’s) of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic in a Super Featherweight bout.

Denis Douglin (15-3, 9 KO’s) of Marloboro, NJ battles Orlando Membreno (12-18-1, 11 KO’s) of Barcelona, Spain in a Middleweight bout.

Lenroy Thomas (16-3, 8 KO’s) of St. Petersburg, FL will see action in an Heavyweight bout against an opponent to be named.

In Four round bouts:

Emanuel Folly (3-0, 2 KO’s) of Philadelphia will take part in a Super Bantamweight bout.

Sultahn Staton (2-0, 2 KO’s) of Philadelphia will compete against Mike Eroza (0-1-2) in a Lightweight bout.

Angel Concepcion (5-0) of Newark, NJ will battle Maurice Amaro (2-5, 1 KO) of Philadelphia, PA in a Light Heavyweight bout.

Carlos Lopez (1-1-1, 1 KO) of Humacao, Puerto Rico will fight in a Middleweight bout.

Teenage Phenom Milton Santiago Jr. to be honored by High School board tonight

Warminster, PA (MAY 13, 2014)–TONIGHT, next to the William Tennent High School, undefeated Jr. Welterweight Milton Santiago will receive a special honor by the school board for his professional boxing career.

Santiago, the youngest boxer in the history of Pennsylvania at age 17 is 4-0 with 3 knockouts is a junior at the school, will receive achievement award just three days before his 5th professional bout which will take place on Friday night at the 2300 Arena in South Philadelphia when he will take on 25 fight veteran Josh Beeman in a 6 round bout.

The school board meeting takes place right next to the High School and will begin at 7 PM.




17-year old Phenom Milton “El Santo” Santiago Jr. back in action in Puerto Rico TONIGHT!!!

VEGA BAJA, PUERTO RICO (APRIL 5, 2014)–TONIGHT, Undefeated and 17-year old phenom, Jr. Welterweight Milton Santiago Jr. will return to action as he will make his 4th start in 2 and one-half months when he takes on Luis Ortiz Molina (0-1) in a bout scheduled for four rounds.

The card, promoted by Fresh Promotions will be televised Live on DirectTV beginning at 9 pm ET.

Santiago of Warminster, PA has a record of 3-0 with two knockouts weighed in the same as his opponent which was 138 lbs.

Santiago is excited about fighting in his home away from home where he will have plenty of support.

“I am very excited to fight in front of my people where I will have a lot of family members,” said Santiago.

He is coming off a four round unanimous decision over 17-fight veteran William Lorenzo on March 14.

“I believe my last fight was a test. He came to fight and and I trained for that. I learned to not start out overly aggressive.”

Even though he had a long and distinguished amateur career, Santiago continues his on the job apprenticeship.

“I am getting better each day. Not only the training but my running and eating right.”

PHILADELPHIA (MARCH 10, 2014)–This Friday night at the Pennsylvania Sheet Metal Workers Hall in Philadelphia, 17-year old phenom, Milton “El Santo” Santiago will make look for his 3rd in win in as many fights when he takes on 17-fight veteran William Lorenzo in a scheduled four round Jr. Welterweight bout as part of an 8 bout card.

Santiago, a Junior at Warmisnter High Scool began his career with a 1st round stoppage over Moses Molina on February 7th and just two weeks later Christian Damiels suffered the same fate in Dover, Delaware.

Santiago is the youngest boxer from the state of Pennsylvania.

Now as he embarks on his 3rd contest, Santiago has his feet wet as a professional.

“It feels good now as a i was a little nervous before my first fight,” said Santiago.

“Half of the people where there for me and I started to feel good after the first punch.”

“I was very confident going in and landed a few good punches and then finished him off.”, said Santiago of his maiden victory.

On facing Lorenzo, who has fought eight undefeated opponents and is coming off of a 4th round stoppage win over Julian Valerio on December 21st, “He has been in there with some good competition and I just have to keep my hands up and not take him lightly.”

Santiago will not be overwhelmed as he prepares for his 3rd fight in just over a month while he finds time to do his schoolwork.

“It is a good thing to stay busy. I stay in the gym and my timing is good.”

“I am getting ready and I feel strong and I can not wait until March 14th.”
