Joe Frazier Jr. and Mis Downing Promotions Presents Championship Boxing on Saturday, August 26th at The Showboat Hotel in Atlantic City

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (AUGUST 19, 2023)–On Saturday night, August 26th, Joe Frazier Jr. and Mis Downing Promotions will present a night of championship boxing that will coincide with the previously announced Ultimate Experience Weekend.

The boxing card will take place at The Showboat Hotel and will be headlined by a 10-ruond bout featuring Derrick Webster taking on Christopher Pearson for the NBA Super Middleweight championship.

Webster of Glassboro, New Jersey has a record of 29-4 with 14 knockouts. The 41 year-old Webster is a 14 year-professional who has defeated Obodai Sai (23-1), Thomas Awimbono (25-5), Frankie Filippone (22-5-1), Francisco Cordero (38-9) and his last outing when he won a six-round unanimous decision over Christian Thomas on April 29th in Philadelphia.

Pearson of Selma, Texas is 17-3 with 12 knockouts. The 32- year-old Pearson won his first 13 bouts with wins over Arturo Crespin (10-2-1), Acaclo Jose Fereira (13-0-1), Steven Martinez (15-1), Siad El Harrak (12-2) and Janks Trotter (9-1-1). Pearson also has wins over Joshua Okine (28-6-1) and worlds title challengerYamaguchi Falcao (16-0).

In the eight-round co-feature, Shinard Bunch will take on Abraham Afful in a super lightweight contest.

Bunch of Trenton, NJ has a record of 20-2-1 with 16 knockouts. The 24 year-old is a four-year professional who has wins over Shyngyskhan Tazhibay (9-1-1) and former world title challenger Hank Lundy. Bunch is coming off a split decision loss to Bryan Flores on April 7th in Brooks, California.

Afful of Accra, Ghana is 12-5-1 with all of his wins coming via knockout. The 26 year-old is a 13 year professional who has a win over Joseph Tagoe (2-0). Attful has lost two straight and is looking to get back in the win column after losing to Angel Beltran Villa on June 23rd in Ontario, California.

In a six-round super bantamweight bout, Devin Gantt (4-0, 4 KOs) of Sicklerville, NJ takes on Kevin Traynor (1-4, 1 KO of Denny, Scotland.

Nimal Farmer (4-0, 4 KOs) of Lindenwold, NJ fights Nelson Morales (4-8,1 KO) of Scranton, PA in a junior welterweight contest.

In four-round bouts:

Khaalid Billings (1-0) of Queens,NY takes on Aaron Nemones (1-3) of Atlantic City in a welterweight contest.

Stanley Johnson (1-0, 1 KO) of Houston Squares off with Charles Johnson (2-7, 1 KO) of Upper Marlboro, Maryland in a heavyweight scrap.

Mis Downing Promotions Gives Back to Community  with Amateur Show, Wardogs VIII, This Saturday, June 11th at the Oxford Valley Mall in Langhorne, PA

LANGHORNE, PA (JUNE 9, 2022)–This Saturday at The One Punch Boxing Gym in The Oxford Valley Mall in Langhorne, PA, Mis Downing Promotions will present a special amateur boxing show that will feature some of the best young talent in the are.

Proceeds from the show will go to The Legacy.

Dubbed, “Wardogs VIII”, the doors will open at 2 PM ET and will feature Wardogs Boxing’s blood and guts warrior, “The American Dream” Ethan Mercado will be back in action against Philly’s next champ Rock Naimjonov.

Rancy Slanger of Wardogs Boxing is making his return to the ring after a two-year layoff, and he will be going up against “The Birdman” Johnny White of Willingboro boxing.

And finally the rematch of the Philadelphia Golden gloves 2022 165 open class championship. Zaykeem Fields and Naheem Britton

Those fights will be among 15 fights scheduled for the event. Each participant will receive boxing gear that is being donated by The Legacy, which is an organization that was founded by Weatta Frazier Collins and the CEO Joe Frazier Jr. Joe Frazier Jr. is the husband of Mis Downing.

Sacred Downing wins pro debut in Atlantic City

Atlantic City, New Jersey (June 5, 2018)–Two members of the Mis Downing Promotions banner registered victories on Saturday night at Boardwalk Hall.

11-time National Amateur champion Sacred Downing made a successful pro debut by winning a 4-round unanimous decision over Britain Hart in a super bantamweight bout.

Downing, who is the sister of promoter Mis Downing, dominated the action by landing quick combination and bloodied the forehead of Hart. Downing showed the skills that made her a sensation in the unpaid ranks. Downing of Trenton, New Jersey won by scores of 40-36 on all cards.

“It was a good experience, and I am working with my family. It was amazing, and it’s up to my father and sister when I fight again.”

Jimenez won a 4-round unanimous decision over Dallas Holden in a bantamweight bout.

It was an exciting fight that saw both men hit the deck in round three. Jimenez floored Holden hard with a big left hook. Holden came back with more of a flash-knockdown when he landed a grazing right that made Jimenez go to the canvas. Jimenez sealed the fight with another hard knockdown in round four.

Jimenez of New Hope, PA win by scores of 40-34 and 39-35 twice to raise his mark to 2-0.

“I know that he was going to come hard. We prepared for what he was going to bring. When I went down it was a slip. he did not hit me. I finished strong and I was happy because we got the victory,” said Jimenez.

Sacred Downing Weighs in 123.6 pounds for long awaited pro debut

Atlantic City, New Jersey (June 2, 2018)–11-time national amateur champion Sacred Downing weighed in at 123.6 lbs for her professional debut that will take place TONIGHT at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.

Downing of Trenton, New Jersey will face Britain Hart in a scheduled four-round bout. Hart checked in at 121 pounds.

Downing is promoted by her sister Mis Downing.

Mis Downing Promotions will feature two more fighters from their stable on Saturday night.

Dan Murray weighed 138.4 lbs, while undefeated Greg Outlaw scaled 136.8 lbs

Webster decisions Riojas in Atlantic City

Atlantic City, New Jersey (June 1, 2018)–Super Middleweight Derrick Webster pounded his way to a 10-round unanimous decision over Oscar Riojas in the main event of a five-bout card at The Claridge Hotel.

Mis Downing Promotions promoted the near-capacity show.

With the win, Webster captured the American Boxing Federation Continental Americas Super Middleweight title.

Webster was pinpoint with his jab, which he followed with a solid body work that reddened the sides of Riojas. Webster stunned the gritty Riojas on several occasions, but the visitor from Monterrey, Mexico showed a good chin and remained on his feet for the ten-round bout.

Scores were all 100-90 in favor of Webster of Glassboro, New Jersey, who is now 26-1. Riojas is 16-10-1.

“It was boxing in there. I put on a display. Roy Jones told me to keep him long, and that’s what I did. I started the body work a little late, but the jab was my key. I could have done a little more with the body, but the jab was everything tonight,” said Webster.

“In the 1st round, I hit him with a big right hand, but the bell saved him. I hit him good a couple more times. Some guys know how to survive, and he is one of them.”

“We have been talking to the USBA about fighting for their title. That will get me to where I need to be. I am ready for a world title shot. I have been putting it out there that I would like fight George Groves or Tyron Zuege. I will go to China or Germany or wherever to fight those guys.”

Isiah Seldon scored two knockdowns en-route to a six-round unanimous decision over Lamar Harris in a super middleweight bout.

In round four, Seldon landed a perfect counter right that sent Harris to the deck. In round five, it was another right that mad Harris’ glove touch the canvas for a 2nd time.

Seldon of Atlantic City won by scores of 60-52 twice and 59-53 and is now 12-1-1. Harris of St. Louis is 9-15-4.

Prince Badi Ajamu won a eight-round unanimous decision over Edgar Perez in a cruiserweight rematch. Seldon continued to hammer and wobble Harris in round four.

Ajamu of Camden, New Jersey won by scores of 80-72 twice and 79-73 to raise his mark to 29-4-1. Perez of Chicago is 7-25.

James Wilkins stopped Joe Gbola at the end of round two of their scheduled four-round featherweight bout.

Wilkins dropped Gbolo midway through the 2nd round, and then pounded on his opponent for the rest of the round. The bout was stopped in between rounds.

Wilkins of Brooklun, NY is 4-0 with 4 knockouts. Gbolo of Newbergh, NY is 3-3-2.

In the opening bout of the evening, Felix Manzueta stopped Antonio Allen in round two of a scheduled four-round welterweight bout.

Manzueta pounded on Allen until the bout was stopped at 1:17.

Manzueta of Dover, Delaware is 2-0 with both wins coming via stoppage. Allen of Philadelphia is 0-8-1.

The card took place on Atlantic City Hall of Fame weekend, and stars such as Roy Jones Jr., Riddick Bowe, Evander Holyfield, Hector Camacho Jr., Bruce Seldon, Mark Breland, Marlon Starling, Michael Spinks and Jeff Chandler were among the dignateries that were sitting ringside.”
