Bethlehem, PA (March 13, 2022)–Khainell Wheeler needed just 82 seconds to stop Ryan Adams in a scheduled eight-round super middleweight fight in front of a large crowd at The Wind Creek Event Center in Bethlehem, PA.

The eight-bout card was promoted by King’s Promotions.

Seconds into the bout, Wheeler dropped Adams with a power jab. Adams never fully regained his balance , as he was wobbled by two more punches, and the fight was stopped at 1:22.

Wheeler, 167.3 lbs of Bethlehem is 7-1 with six knockouts. Adams, 165.6 lbs of Saint Louis, MO is 8-5-1.

Kenny Robles pounded out an eight-round unanimous decision over Naim Nelson in a junior welterweight bout.

Robles, 141 lbs of Staten Island, NY won by scores of 80-72, 79-73 and 78-74 and is now 9-1. Nelson, 139.9 lbs of Philadelphia is 14-6.

Jonathan Rodriguez won a six-round unanimous decision over Jose Flores Chavez in A bantamweight fight.

In round six, Chavez was deducted a point for holding. Rodriguez dominated the action and won by scores of 60-53 on all cards.

Rodriguez, 119.6 lbs of Bethlehem is now 10-1. Chavez, 118 lbs of Baja, MEX is 9-14.

James Bernadin stopped Kevin Asmat in the 6th and final round of their lightweight fight.

It was a tough scrap that was set up the day before when Benadin shoved Asmat at the weigh in. Bernadin got the better of the action, but Asmat had moments. In round six, Bernadin landed several hard shots that forced a referee stoppage at 2:52.

Bernadin, 135.7 lbs of Lancaster, PA is 6-0 with four knockouts. Asmat, 135.1 lbs of North Bergen, NJ is 6-3.

Julian Gonzalez remained perfect as he stopped Carlos Padilla at the end of round two of their six-round lightweight contest. Gonzalez beat down Padilla and the bout was stopped.

Quadir Albright remained perfect with a 3rd round stoppage of Antonio Wattell in a scheduled six-round junior welterweight bout.

In round one, Albright landed a huge right that knocked Wattell down and out of the ring. Wattell was about to beat the 20 count of referee Shawn Clark. Wattell fought back in round three. Albright dropped Wattell with a hard combination to the head. Albright finished off the fight with a vicious body combination that forced a referee stoppage at 2:57.

In an exciting battle of pro debuting welterweights, Thanjhae Teasley stopped Daniel Jiles in round two of their four-round fight.

Jiles used his length early, but Teasley was able to make the adjustments and get inside and batter Jiles until the bout was stopped at 2:29.

Philadelphia, PA (October 28, 2019)– Super Middleweight Brandon Robinson boxed his way to an eight-round unanimous decision over Martez McGregor in the main event of an eight-bout card at The 2300 Arena in Philadelphia,

The show was promoted by King’s Promotions.

Robinson moved side to side and used angles to land shots and rack up points on the inside on McGregor. McGregor was able to land some good punches from time-to-time, but Robinson was more active, and he showed some different skills from the mostly all-action style that he has shown in most of his previous outings.

Robinson of Philadelphia won by scores of 78-74 twice and 77-75 to improve his record to 14-2. McGregor of Chicago falls to 8-3.

Popular Avril Mathie made a successful Philadelphia debut with a four-round unanimous decision over Karen Dulin in a bantamweight contest.

Mathie, who is world-renowned Swimsuit Model and boasts nearly 1.5 social media followers, showed good skills and landed some good shots on the 25 fight-veteran Dulin.

Mathie of Miami via Sydney, Australia won by shutout tallies of 40-36 on all cards, and is now 4-0. Dulin of Providence, Rhode Island is 3-21-1.

Shinard Bunch and Vincent Floyd battled to a no-contest after three rounds of their scheduled six-round welterweight battle.

Bunch registered knockdowns in each of the 1st two rounds, and seemingly he was on his way to the victory, but unfortunately for him, he and Floyd clashed heads that caused a cut on the forehead of Floyd. The blood streamed into Floyd’s eye and the fight was halted.

Ryan Umberger dropped Leon DeShields three times in the opening frame to score a 1st round stoppage in their four-round junior middleweight fight.

The time of the stoppage was 2:49 for Umberger of Philadelphia, who remains perfect at 3-0 with three knockouts. DeShields of Camden, NJ is 0-7.

Naim Nelson won a six-round unanimous decision over Roy McGill in a junior welterweight fight.

Nelson of Philadelphia won by scores of 60-54, 59-55 and 58-56 and is now 14-4. McGill of Harrisburg, PA is 6-4.

Damon Allen got back in the win column with a six-round unanimous decision over Dieumerci Nzau in a junior welterweight contest.

Allen of Philadelphia won by 60-54 scores on all cards, and is now 16-1-1. Nzau of Silver Sprong, MD is 11-10.

Angel Rivera stopped Nicoy Clarke in round two of a scheduled four-round cruiserweight fight.

Rivera dropped Clark twice and the bout was stopped at 1:41.

The show kicks off a monster weekend for King’s Promotions.

Robinson of Philadelphia has a record of 13-2 with nine knockouts.

The 31 year-old Robinson is a three-year professional who has wins over Brandon Clark (2-0), Ernest Amuzu (25-3) and is coming off a win over Devaun Lee on May 10th at The 2300 Arena.

McGregor of Maywood, Illinois has a record of 8-2 with six knockouts.

BETHLEHEM, PA. (September 19) – Unbeaten super lightweight Mario Barrios (20-0, 12 KOs) defeated Naim Nelson (13-4, 1 KO) via seventh round TKO in the main event of Premier Boxing Champions TOE-TO-TOE TUESDAYS on FS1 and BOXEO DE CAMPEONES on FOX Deportes from Sands Bethlehem Events Center in Bethlehem, Pa.

The fast-rising star Barrios of San Antonio started the bout throwing multiple combinations to the head and body of Nelson of Philadelphia. He kept his distance and stayed patient, but did not get to showcase all of the tools in his arsenal as the fight took a turn in the third round when Nelson went to the canvas after hurting his left shoulder by throwing a hook. That was ruled a slip and he dropped to his knees again after throwing another punch, but after being examined by the ringside doctor, it was determined that Nelson could continue.

Barrios was not deterred and continued to move forward, apply pressure and control the action into the fourth round. By the fifth, Nelson’s work rate dropped significantly, which Barrios took advantage of by battering the Philadelphia-native against the ropes. Throughout the sixth, Barrios stalked Nelson around the ring while Nelson tried to work through his apparent shoulder injury, countering with the right where he could. In the end, Barrios sent Nelson to the canvas with a hard left hand causing Referee Gary Rosato to wave off the bout at 1:41 of the seventh round. The victory over Nelson marks Barrios’ fourth straight stoppage – all of which have taken place since he started working with renowned trainer Virgil Hunter.

“I apologize to the fans of Pennsylvania as I wanted to put on a show tonight,” said Barrios. “After I caught him, he was trying to survive. He was moving around. I did not concentrate if he hurt his shoulder or not.

“I just want to keep moving along and get better. I want to fight again before the end of the year if possible and I know I will put on a show in my next fight.”

“I was doing well and I had him, but I hurt my shoulder,” said Nelson. “I thought I was doing a good job, but my shoulder just hurt too much. This is a sport and injuries happen.”

In the co-feature, lightweights Thomas Velasquez (9-0, 5 KOs) of Philadelphia and Tyrome Jones (4-2, 1 KO) of South Bend, Ind. Tyrome Jones fought to a draw in a fast-paced six-round bout. Velasquez, who is mentored by former world champion Danny Garcia, started the fight going to Jones’ body and stuck with that plan throughout. As the fight wore on, Jones turned up the heat and listened to his corner who told him to stay busy and aggressive. Velasquez landed multiple straight left hands in the fourth that stung Jones, but the Indiana-native was able to counter with several straight lefts of his own. The sixth and final round showcased hard-fought action from both pugilists with Jones throwing several hard lefts with Velasquez countering with his own flurries of shots finishing the fight strong. In the end, the judges ruled the bout even 59-55 for each and 57-57.

“I had to use the jab in this fight as well as my double-jab and body shots were working well,” said Velasquez. “This was a great learning fight and I felt that I won. I can’t wait to get back in the gym, apply what I learned and get back in the ring again soon.”

“This was a tough fight against an undefeated guy who came in confident,” said Jones. “I countered very well and I got to him. I feel that I won the fight, but sometimes the judges don’t see it that way.”

The opening bout saw light heavyweights Earl Newman (10-0-1, 7 KOs) of Brooklyn, NY and Paul Parker (8-2-1, 4 KOs) of Toledo, OH fight to an eight-round draw. Parker made it awkward for Newman in the first two rounds by starting out strong, moving forward, diving in and staying busy. However, Newman came out of the corner swinging in the third, throwing a left hook that forced Parker to tap the canvas with his glove although it was not ruled a knockdown by referee Benjy Esteves.

Neman worked his right hand throughout the fourth round, ready to counter Parker’s shots. Newman drove Parker back with a left hook in the fifth and continued to put pressure on the Ohio-native throughout the round. The two-time New York Golden Gloves winner continued to press forward and walk down Parker in the later rounds, but was unable to finish strong enough to be victorious as the judges scored the bout 79-32 (Newman), 77-75 (Parker) and 76-76.

“After a year off I felt rusty,” said Newman. “I saw the punches, but I did not react as well as I wanted to. That being said, I kept pressuring and landed more to the body. I felt I won the fight. Now it is back to the drawing board. I definitely can’t be inactive for a long time again.”

“He is a great fighter,” said Parker. “I listened to my corner and followed the game plan. He caught me with some good punches, but I landed more. I wobbled him and I was busier. I really feel that I won the fight. I want a rematch”

Juan Sanchez won a four-round unanimous decision over Gorwar Karyah in a featherweight bout.

In round one, Sanchez scored a knockdown on a right hand.

Russell hit Lule with some vicious combination’s, yet the veteran Lule continued to take the shots. Finally a ripping flurry of punches to the head had referee Benji Esteves stop the bout.

Jeffrey Torres remained undefeated by stopping Latorie Woodberry in the first round of their scheduled four round super lightweight bout.

Torres floored Woodberry in round one with 2 lefts to head and one to the body, Woodberry went down again from a right hand. Torres ended things with 2 more lefts to the body that sent Woodberry down, and referee Gary Rosato stopped the bout at 2:37.

Torres, 140.4 lbs of Hartford, CT is 4-0 with 2 knockouts. Woodberry, 141.8 lbs of Roanoke, VA is 1-5-1.
