Joey Dawejko Decisions Colby Madison for Second Time in Four-Months and Captures WBC U.S. Heavyweight Title

Philadelphia (September 19, 2023) –For the second time in four months, Joey Dawejko won a unanimous decision over Colby Madison in a heavyweight bout a Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia.

The eight-round win garnered Dawejko the WBC U.S. Heavyweight title and headlined an eight-bout card that was promoted by King’s Promotions.

Dawejko dominated the action by landing quick power shots that kept Madison at bay. Dawejko’s shots had Madison thinking twice about trying to attack. in round eight, Dawejko scored two knockdowns to sew up the victory.

Dawejko of Philadelphia won by scores of 80-70, 79-71 and 78-72 and is now 26-10-4. Madison of Baltimore is 11-6-2.

The fight was a rematch of a May 2nd fight for which Dawejko also won a unanimous decision at the same venue.

Quadir Albright dropped Demarcus Layton twice en-route to an 82 second stoppage in a six-round welterweight bout.

Albright of Philadelphia is 9-1 with nine knockouts. Layton of Little Rock, Arkansas is 9-6-1.

Dewayne Williams scored a mild upset as he stopped Brendan O’Callaghan in round two of their six-round middleweight bout.

The time of the stoppage was 42 seconds for Williams of Philadelphia, who is now 4-7-1 with four knockouts. O’Callaghan of Philadelphia is 5-3-1.

Jackie McTamney made a successful pro debut with a fourth and final round stoppage over Brittany Dukes in a featherweight bout.

The time of the stoppage was 59 seconds of the final frame for the Philadelphia native McTamney who is 1-0 with one knockout. Dukes of Kansas City is 0-5-1.

Tevon Watson dropped Tyler Zwicharowski three times, and that was the difference in their four-round middleweight bout.

Watson of Fort Worth, Texas took the unanimous decision by scores of 38-35 on all cards to go to 1-0. Zwicharowski of Philadelphia is 1-2.

Najeem Johns won a six-round unanimous decision over Muhammad Robinson in a battle of undefeated super lightweights.

Johns of Philadelphia won by scores of 60-54 and 59-55 twice and is now 5-0. Robinson of Baltimore is 6-1.

Canar Morrison won a four-round unanimous decision over Vincent Floyd in a middleweight bout.

Morrison of Harrisburg, PA won by scores of 40-36 twice and 40-35 and is now 5-1. Floyd of Philadelphia is 5-16-1.

Ibrahim Robinson took a six-round unanimous decision over Elizer Olmeda in a welterweight fight.

Robinson of Baltimore won by tallies of 60-53 twice and 59-54 and is 6-0-1. Olmeda of Gloucester, NJ is 3-4.




Isaiah Johnson Remains Undefeated With Unanimous Decision over Antonio Sanchez in Newtown, PA

NEWTOWN PA (March 6.2023)–Rising prospect Isaiah Johnson remained undefeated with a six-round unanimous decision over veteran upset-specialist Antonio Sanchez in a junior welterweight bout that headlined an entertaining eight-bout card at The Newtown Athletic Club.

The show was promoted by RDR Promotions.

Johnson of New Jersey boxed very well, and had Sanchez in trouble on several different occasions, but the experienced Sanchez was able to hold off the fast and energetic Johnson. Johnson was bever challenged and cruised home with the win by scores of 60-54 twice and 59-55.

Johnson is now 7-0. Sanchez of Toa Alta, Puerto Rico is 7-16-3.

Oscar Barajas scored a six-round majority decision over Roberto Gomez in a battle of “Philly-Spoiler’s” in a junior welterweight contest.

Barajas of Zamora, Mexico won by scores of 58-56 twice and 57-57 and is now 19-8-3. Gomez of Mexico City is 5-2.

Erron Peterson and Tariq Green battled to a six-round split draw in a middleweight bout.

Peterson came out strong and took the first half of the fight. Green made a late rally, and was able to salvage the draw.

Scores were 58-56 for each fighter, and a third card was even at 57-57.

Peterson of Philadelphia is 3-0-1. Green of Philadelphia is 2-2-1.

Nimal Farmer scored a vicious second round stoppage over Brois Nde in a scheduled four-round junior welterweight bout.

In round two, Farmer landed a perfect uppercut to the jaw of Farmer that sent him down hard on his back. Nde was down for several minutes, but was able to leave the ring on his strength. The time was 39 seconds.

Farmer of Lindenwold, New Jersey is 3-0 with three knockouts. Nde of Harrisburg, PA is 4-2.

Najeem Johns stopped Raekwon Butler in the opening round of their four-round junior welterweight bout.

Johns caught Butler with a hard left on the ropes and the set off a flurry that forced a referee stoppage.

Johns of Darby, PA is 3-0 with three knockouts. Butler of Brooklyn, NY is 5-5.

Dominique Mayfield won a four-round unanimous decision over Jerome Aiken in a heavyweight bout.

Mayfield of Philadelphia won by scores of 40-36 twice and 39-37 and is now 3-1. Aiken of Annapolis, MD is 1-7-1.

Ali Ellis made a successful pro debut with a third round stoppage over Jonathan Wiles in a heavyweight tussle.

Ellis started breaking down Wiles as Wiles was deducted a point in round three for holding. Later in the round Ellis dropped Wiles and the fight was over.

Ellis of Philadelphia is 1-0 with one knockout. Wiles of Philadelphia is 0-3.

In what was a sure fire Fight of the Year candidate, Brendan O’Callaghan outlasted Soslan Alborov via fourth and final round stoppage in their junior middleweight rematch.

The action was hot, heavy and furious from the opening bell. Alborov got on the board first by dropping O’Callaghan just moments into the contest. Then moments later, both guys landed simultaneously that sent both fighters to the canvas for the rare double knockdown. Alborov and O’Callaghan continued to pound away at each other, and in the final frame, O’Callaghan dropped Alborov with a perfect left hook. With Alborov hurt, O’Callaghan jumped on his opponent and the fight was stopped at 2:05.

O’Callaghan of Philadelphia is 5-1-1 with two knockouts. Alborov of Philadelphia is 1-2-1.

NEWTOWN PA (February 27th, 2023)–THIS SATURDAY NIGHT, Saturday March 4th, RDR Promotions will present a huge night of boxing at The Newtown Athletic Club in Newtown, Pennsylvania.

In the featured six-round bout, rising and undefeated junior welterweight Isaiah Johnson will take on veteran Antonio Sanchez.

Johnson of New Jersey has had an explosive start to his career as he is 6-0 with five knockouts. The 20 year-old Johnson is coming off a six-round unanimous decision over William Parra Smith on October 22, 2022 in Philadelphia.

Sanchez of Toa Alta, Puerto Rico is 7-15-3 with three knockouts. He has quality wins on his resume over Carlos Lopez (4-0), Bernard Leon Figueroa (10-1) and Courtney Jackson (21-3).

In a six-round bout, Roberto Gomez faces veteran Oscar Barajas in a junior welterweight bout.

Gomez of Mexico is 5-1 with five knockouts. Gomez is coming off a shocking stoppage win over Quadir Albright (6-0) on October 1, 2022 in Philadelphia.

Barajas of Zamora, Mexico is 18-8-1 with eight knockouts. The 32 year-old Barajas had defeated Roxie Lam (7-1) as well Edgardo Navarrete Correa (11-2). Barajas has developed into a “Philly-Killer” as he has defeated two favorites from the City of Brotherly Love in Jerome Conquest and Damon Allen (16-1-1).
