Split-T Management Prospects Pick Up Three Victories

NEW YORK (February 25, 2019)-This past weekend, three coveted prospects under the Split-T Management banner picked up quality victories.

On Friday night, 2016 U.S. Olympian Antonio Vargas (10-0, 4 KOs) stopped 56-fight veteran Lucas Rafael Baezat 2:08 of the 2nd round of their bantamweight bout in his hometown of Kissimmee, Florida.

On Saturday, Ernesto Garza III (10-3, 6 KOs) of Saiginaw, Michigan stopped Jeno Tonte at 2:39 of the 1st round of their super bantamweight bout in Deerborn, Michigan.

Also on Saturday, 17 year-old, eight-time National Champion, Diego Pacheco (2-0, 1 KO)) of Los Angeles was impressive in shutting out Alberto Aguilar in a middleweight bout in Tijuana, Mexico. Scores were 40-36 on all scorecards.

Pacheco’s fight with Aguilar was seen live on DAZN.




Eight-Time National Champion Diego Pacheco in Action Tonight in Tijuana

NEW YORK (February 23, 2019)-Eight-time national amateur champion and now undefeated professional Diego Pacheco will see action tonight as he takes on fellow undefeated Alberto Aguilar in a middleweight bout at Auditorio Municipal in Tijuana, Mexico.

Pacheco of Los Angeles was the number-one middleweight in both the United States and Mexico.

Pacheco was a 2017 National Junior Golden Gloves champion, and the 2018 United States Junior Olympic National champion.

Pacheco, 17 years-old made his professional debut on December 22nd with a 1st round stoppage over veteran Luis Gonzalez.

In Aguilar he is taking on a foe who also is 1-0 with a 1st round knockout to his credit.

“Since the amateurs I’ve been fighting in Tijuana, and it feels great to get back there for my second pro fight,” said Pacheco.

“I’m tall and I have long reach so I like to keep my distance, but I also like to walk them down. Everyone’s told me I hit pretty hard. I feel like I’m a power puncher, but I stay within a distance. I don’t like to smother myself.”

“By the end of this year, I just want to get as much experience as I can. I’m only 17 so there’s no rush. Personally, I have a lot of guys that I want to get. I just want to put a good few first fights in and just take over when the time is right, I have a great team around me and we won’t be rushed.”

Pacheco is managed by Split-T Management, and is promoted by Matchroom Boxing. Pacheco’s fight with Aguilar will be streamed live on DAZN beginning at 7 PM ET.

Sonny Conto Wins Pro Debut With 1st Round Stoppage In Philly

NEW YORK (February 11, 2019)-Heavyweight Sonny Conto made a successful pro debut as he took out Jimmie Levins in the first round this past Friday night at 2300 Arena in Conto’s hometown of Philadelphia.

Conto put Levins on the canvas four-times in the opening frame, but for some reason the referee ruled slips. The 4th time Levins hit the canvas, it was from a vicious body shot, and the fight was halted at 2:19.

“Getting that 1st one out of the way is important. My father told me that this is my professional debut, but this is noting new. I have been doing this since I was 10 years-old. The hometown crowd was amazing, and it was a great opportunity. I can’t wait until the next one,” said Conto.

The 22 year-old Conto was was a two-time Pennsylvania Golden Gloves Champion as well as a Silver Medalist in the 2018 National Golden Gloves and a Bronze Medalist in the 2017 National Golden Gloves, is managed by Split-T Management, and is promoted by Top Rank.




Undefeated Isiah Jones takes on Lanrado Tyner Tonight in Detroit

NEW YORK (February 8, 2019)-Tonight, Undefeated Isiah Jones takes on the toughest test of his young career when he takes on 50-fight veteran Lanardo Tyner in a scheduled eight-round junior middleweight bout at The Motor City Casino in Detroit.

Jones of Detroit has a record of 7-0 with three knockouts is looking to knock off Tyner,.

Tyner has wins over the likes of former world champion Vivian Harris, world title challenger Charles Hatley and perennial contender Antwone Smith. He is coming off a 3rd round stoppage over undefeated Cortez Chambliss.

The 24 year-old Jones was 52-2 as an amateur, and was the 2016 National Golden Gloves champion.

Jones, who is managed by Split-T Management, is coming off a unanimous decision win over Dakota Bush on October 27th.

Jones was 156.6 lbs at Thursday’s weight. Tyner checked in at 150.




Heralded Amateur Standout Sonny Conto Makes Pro debut Tonight in Philadelphia

NEW YORK (February 8, 2019)-TONIGHT, Heralded amateur, heavyweight Sonny Conto will make his long-waited pro debut at 2300 Arena in his hometown of Philadelphia.

Conto, 22 years-old will take on Jimmie Levins in a four-round bout.

“I feel like a champ. All of the hard work is done. This is the moment that I have been waiting for. I am anxious. I am excited, said Conto.

“I have been thinking about this moment since I started boxing. This is just the beginning. Philly has a strong root of fighters. I am proud to represent Philadelphia, South Philadelphia. I am from right on 9th Street, where they did the Rocky Movie.”

“I do not feel any pressure fighting at home. I rise to the occasion with pressure.”

Conto weighed in at 215.4 lbs, while Levins was 219.2 at Thursday’s weigh-in.

After Biggest win of Career, DeAndre Ware Looks for Bright Future

NEW YORK (February 6, 2019)-This past Friday night, super middleweight DeAndre Ware registered the biggest win of his career when he took a 10-round majority decision over previously undefeated Ronald Ellis in a bout that was the main of a ShoBox: The New Generation card and live on SHOWTIME.

The fight, which took place at The Main Street Armory, saw Ware press the action and get inside of the longer Ellis. Ware was effective inside by working the body and coming up top with good right hands.

The native of Toledo, Ohio, Ware won by scores of 96-94 twice, and 95-95 to raise his mark to 13-1-2 with eight knockouts.

Ware, who was making his 2nd consecutive ShoBox appearance, was able to show his skills after being able to enjoy a full training camp, and now will look for a big opportunity in the super middleweight division.

“I controlled the fight. The whole fight I was landing the harder shots,” said Ware. “I finally had a chance to get in shape and have a full camp, and we were able to show what we really have. I applied the pressure. He was just flicking the jab and it wasn’t doing anything. I see big things in my future, I am with with a great team with Split-T Management.”

“This was another great ShoBox fight between two extremely talented guys. Both deserve much more respect. Deandre once again showed his mettle and character, and outworked his opponent,” said David McWater of Split-T Management.

Teofimo Lopez Explosive Again In 7th Round Stoppage Over Diego Magdaleno

NEW YORK (February 4, 2019)- On a night with three world title fights, it was boxing’s hottest star that stole the show at The Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas, as Teofimo Lopez bloodied, battered, beat up and knocked out former two-time world title challenger Diego Magdaleno in the 7th round of their NABA/NABF/USBA Lightweight Title bout.

Lopez’s work began to show as early as round two, when his power punching opened up a cut on the bridge of Magdaleno’s nose. Lopez continued to pound away on Magdaleno. Soon after, Magdaleno’s face was a bloody mess as a result of vicious shots landed by Lopez.

In round six, a powerful left hook finally sent Magdaleno to the canvas. Most who saw the fight felt the contest should have been halted there. Lopez landed two devastating left hooks that put out Magdaleno in the 7th frame, and the fight was stopped at 1:08.

“I take nothing away from Diego Magdaleno. We picked our shots, and we knew that in the later rounds, he’d drown in those deep waters,” Lopez said. “As the competition gets tougher, you will see more of what I can do. I dissected him like a surgeon.”

Lopez took a major leap into securing a major fight in his next bout.

“I think Teofimo has clearly proven that he’s not just a prospect or a contender. He is a world champ right now, and the only thing that is missing is the belt,” said David McWater of Split-T Management.




THE TAKEOVER CONTINUES TONIGHT IN TEXAS AS TEOFIMO LOPEZ TAKES ON FORMER WORLD TITLE CHALLENGER DIEGO MAGDALENO

NEW YORK (February 2, 2019)- Tonight, boxing’s hottest star, undefeated lightweight Teofimo Lopez (11-0, 9 KOs) continues his “Takeover” when he takes on former two-time world title challenger Diego Magdaleno (31-2, 13 KOs) in a ten-round lightweight bout at Ford Center at the Star, the practice home of the Dallas Cowboys in Frisco, Texas.

Lopez weighed 134.8 lbs, while Magdaleno was 134.7 lbs.
