Rashiem Jefferson Jr. takes on Upset-Specialist Diuhl Olguin on Saturday night May 8th at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (APRIL 27, 2021)–On Saturday night, May 8th, undefeated featherweight prospect Rashiem Jefferson Jr. takes a step up in competition when he takes on upset-specialist Diuhl Olguin in a six-round bout that will headline a big night of boxing at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia.

The show is promoted by RDR Promotions.

Jefferson, still just 19 years-old, has been a professional for one year, and defeated undefeated Nathan Benichou in pro debut on March 7, 2020.

Jefferson is 5-0 with one knockout and is coming off a 2nd round stoppage over Darel Harris on March 6th in Feasterville, Pa.

Olguin of Guadalajara, Mexico has a record of 15-16-4 with 10 knockouts.

The 32 year-old is in his 13th year of a professional career, and has upset wins over Horacio Garcia (32-2-1), Kevin Rivers Jr. (14-1) and his last bout when he stopped top-rated prospect David Navarro in six-rounds on March 10th in Uncasville, Connecticut.

In a co-feature bout, Edgar Cortes of Millvillle, New Jersey takes on undefeated Alexander Castellano in a bantamweight fight.

Cortes is 7-6-1 with one knockout. The 26 year-old is an eight-year professional, and is coming off his 1st stoppage win as he got Michael Stoute out of there in five rounds on March 6th in Feasterville, Pa.

Castellano of Tornawanda, New York is 4-0 with two knockouts.

The 28 year-old is a two year professional and is coming off a first-round stoppage over Raymond Locker on February 20th in Shelbyville, Kentucky.

In six-round bouts:

Donald Smith (11-1, 7 KOs) of Philadelphia takes on Jonathan Lecona Ramos (18-20-5, 6 KOs) of Mexico City in a featherweight bout.

Shinard Bunch (14-1, 12 KOs) of Trenton, NJ takes on Diego Vicente Perez (13-12-1, 12 KOs) of Buenos Aires, Argentina in a junior welterweight bout.

Mark Dawson (7-0-1, 3 KOs) of Philadelphia battles Rodrigo Solis (4-6-1, 2 KOs) of Cancun, Mexico in a welterweight bout.

Also seeing action in a six-round bout will be undefeated featherweight Rasheen Brown (7-0, 4 KOs) of Philadelphia against Nestor Robiedo (7-11-2) of Georgetown, Texas.

Christian Bermudez (1-0, 1 KO) of Brooklyn, NY takes on pro debuting Jerrell Murray of Davenport, Iowa in a junior welterweight contest.

Joey Dawejko Stops Joe Jones in 1st Round in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (APRIL 8, 2021)–This past Saturday night, popular heavyweight Joey Dawejko knocked out Joe Jones in the opening round of their scheduled eight-round heavyweight bout at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia.

The bout headlined a card promoted by RDR Promotions.

Dawejko was dominant in dropping Jones twice, with the final punch coming from a big left hook, and the fight was halted at 2:50.

Dawejko of Philadelphia improved his record to 21-8-4 with 12 knockouts. Jones falls to 11-4.

In the co-feature, surging lightweight Nahir Albright notched his third consecutive stoppage victory by stopping Dante Cox in round three of their scheduled six-round bout.

Albright dropped Cox twice in round two, and finished him off at 2:13 of the third frame.

Albright of Sicklerville, NJ is now 11-1 with five knockouts. Cox of Glen Burnie, MD is 6-2.

Former National Golden Gloves champion Mike Hilton shrugged off a knockdown to win a six-round unanimous decision over Twon Smith in a cruiserweight fight.

Smith put Hilton down for a flash knockdown in round three from a left. That was sandwiched around Hilton outboxing Smith, and Hilton took all three cards by 58-55 scores.

Hilton of Trenton, NJ is 11-0. Smith falls to 3-5.

Afunwa King scored a mild upset by taking a six-round majority decision over previously undefeated Benny Sinakin in a light heavyweight bout.

King took two cards by 58-56 tallies, while a third card read even at 57-57.

King is now 3-1. Sinakin of Philadelphia is 6-1.

Matthew Gonzalez of Brooklyn, New York remained undefeated by taking out Luis Eduardo Florez in round five of a scheduled six-round junior welterweight bout.

The time of the stoppage was 2:13 for Gonzalez, who is now 12-0 with eight knockouts. Florez is now 25-19.

Rasheen Brown stopped late-replacement Christopher Nelson in round three of their four-round featherweight fight.

Brown dominated with body shots, and the fight was stopped at 1:50 of round three. A West Philadelphia native, Brown is 7-0 with four knockouts. Nelson is 3-18.

Tahmir Smalls remained undefeated by winning a four-round unanimous decision over Andres Abarca in a welterweight bout.

Scores were 40-34 twice and 39-35 for Smalls, who is now 3-0. Abarca,is 2-4.

Jahdon Ervin made a successful pro debut by taking a four-round unanimous decision over Kareem Gladney in a middleweight fight.

Ervin of St. Clair, PA is 1-0. Gladney is 0-4.

The event is promoted by RDR Promotions. RDR Promotions is the only promotion to stage an event during the Covid-19 Shutdown. This will be the 3rd show promoted by RDR Promotions and 2nd during the Covid-19 Restriction Period. RDR ran a successful event on November 7th at The 2300 Arena in Philadelphia.

Price of Sicklerville, New Jersey. has a record of 11-0 with eight knockouts, and he took an eight-round unanimous decision over Gutierrez on July 27, 2019 in Baltimore, Maryland.

The 22 year-old is a four year professional who is coming off a 2nd round stoppage over Jose Rodriguez on November 7th in Philadelphia.

Gutierrez of Mexico has a record of 16-28-6 with six knockouts.

At 32 years old, Gutierrez has been a pro for for 14 years and has wins over Ruben Montoya (10-0-1), Moises Calleros (20-5-1), Montoya (12-2-1) & Juan Leija (11-1-1). Gutierrez is coming off a loss to undefeated Joahnys Argilagos on October 17th in Miami.

In the six-round co-feature, junior welterweight Shinard Bunch takes on Dieumerci Nzau in a junior welterweight bout.

Nzau of Silver Spring, Maryland has a record of 11-13 with eight knockouts.

Nzau, 32 years-old is a 12-year professional is coming off a decision loss to Daiyann Butt on November 7th in Philadelphia.

Also in a six-round bout, Nafear Charles (5-0, 5 KOs) of Philadelphia takes on an opponent to be named in a lightweight bout.

In four-round bouts, Tahmir Smalls (2-0, 2 KOs) of Philadelphia fights David Veras Pena (0-3-1) of Annapolis, MD in a welterweight contest.
