Victory Sports & Entertainment’s Sonny “Pretty Boy” Fredrickson Ready to Shine in ShoBox: The New Generation Debut, This Friday at 10 p.m. ET/PT Live on SHOWTIME from Turning Stone Resort Casino

New York, New York (January 10, 2018) — Victory Sports & Entertainment’s highly-touted Junior Welterweight fighter Sonny “Pretty Boy” Fredrickson (18-0,12 KOs) is slated to make his SHOWTIME debut on Friday, January 12 when he faces off against Shohjahon Ergashev in the telecast opener of ShoBox: The New Generation on Friday, Jan. 12 live on SHOWTIME (10 p.m. ET/PT) from Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, N.Y.

Fredrickson will square off against the Uzbekistani Ergashev (11-0, 11 KOs) in a telecast headlined by two-time Olympian Gold Medalist Claressa Shields (4-0, 2 KO’s) as she defends her WBC and IBF Middleweight World Titles against Tori Nelson (17-0-3, 2 KO’s).

Fredrickson, the WBA’s No. 8 ranked fighter at 140 pounds, will take on power-puncher Ergashev in the former’s first fight since claiming the WBA Fedebol Super Lightweight title on Nov. 1, 2017 in Medellin, Colombia. The highly anticipated fight is part of a tripleheader event promoted by Salita Promotions. And while Ergashev is with Salita Promotions, there is no doubt who the “A-Side” of this fight is as the fast rising Fredrickson looks to solidify his position as one of the top contenders at Junior Welterweight and make himself a television regular.

“I am excited to make my ShoBox debut, and look forward to putting on a good show for the fans at Turning Stone and everyone watching on TV, especially all my family and fans back in Toledo, Ohio” Fredrickson said. “I know Ergashev is tough and he will be coming to fight, but I’ve trained very hard. I had a great camp and I am looking to make a statement. I’m very appreciative of SHOWTIME for this platform.” I had a number of television opportunities fall through because fighters pulled out so I’m happy my time has finally come. Hopefully, Ergashev doesn’t get hurt before Friday, but once the fight starts I can’t promise anything.”

Rick Torres, President of Victory Sports, feels that this fight will give Fredrickson exposure to a wider audience that may not be familiar with him.

“We feel Sonny is one of the best kept secrets in all of boxing and we’re excited that the rest of the world will get to see what we already know – that Sonny Fredrickson is the future of the 140-pound division,” Torres said. “Sonny has not gotten the TV exposure of other fighters, but we know that, given the chance, he will not disappoint. We are very grateful to SHOWTIME and Gordon Hall for making this happen and for the support of Sonny’s promoter Roc Nation Sports.”

Mike Leanardi, COO of Victory Sports, sees an opportunity for Fredrickson to follow in the footsteps of another Victory Sports fighter that started on ShoBox.

“ShoBox is the premier platform today for showcasing and developing young fighters,”Leanardi said. “We’ve seen the impact ShoBox can have firsthand with [former Super Middleweight and Former Light Heavyweight World Champion] Badou Jack. We’re confident that Sonny can achieve great success as well.”

Victory Sports & Entertainment signs former world champion Jose Pedraza to managerial contract

New York, N.Y. (October 30, 2017)–Victory Sports & Entertainment is pleased to announce the signing of former IBF World Junior Lightweight Champion Jose Pedraza to a multi-year managerial contract.

Pedraza of Cidra, Puerto Rico has a record of 22-1 with 12 knockouts. Pedraza says, “I am very happy to sign with Victory Sports and look forward to the next chapter of my career. They represent a number of up and coming fighters and also work with elite fighters like Badou Jack so I feel that Victory is the right team to lead me back to a world championship.”

At 28 years-old, Pedraza is a six-year professional and one of the most highly decorated amateurs to come out of Puerto Rico. An Olympian in 2008, Pedraza also won medals in numerous international competitions including silver in the 2009 World Amateur Championships in Milan and gold at the 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games. After turning pro in 2011, Pedraza won his first 19 fights before capturing the IBF Junior Lightweight Championship in only his 20th fight, capturing the belt with a 12-round unanimous decision over Andrey Klimov. After defending his belt twice, Pedraza lost his belt earlier this year in an upset to Gervonta Davis, and is now looking to rebound. “My lack of activity and struggling to make weight at 130lbs definitely affected my performance in my last fight,” says Pedraza, “but I am working hard and looking forward to coming back soon. I think the Lightweight division is where I will make my mark and am excited to get back in the ring.”

President of Victory Sports Rick Torres feels that Pedraza is ready to make a statement at Lightweight, “Jose Pedraza is bar none the best fighter in Puerto Rico and we are extremely proud to welcome him to the Victory Sports family. We feel that Jose can be a force at Lightweight. There are a number of attractive fights in the division, from Jorge Linares to Mickey Garcia, all of which would make great fights for boxing fans.”

“Jose is a tremendous fighter who, at twenty-eight, is still in his physical prime,” explained Victory Sports COO Mike Leanardi. “We are looking to get him back in the ring as soon as possible. Then, after a tune-up fight or two, there is no reason Jose won’t be ready to take on the best in the world,” Leanardi continued.

Pedraza joins Victory’s growing stable of fighters including undefeated world ranked contenders Sonny Fredrickson and Tyler McCreary.

The fights will only get bigger from here for “Cuba”, his time is now and we’re confident that he will become a force in the middleweight division for years to come. Sonny and Tyler are coming along very nicely. They are getting the right fights and getting much needed experience as they continue in their development. Undefeated Welterweight Javier Flores takes on Jamie Herrera on November 5, 2015 for the WBC United States National Welterweight Championship

On Thursday, November 5th in Washington DC, Javier “El Chino” Flores will step in the ring at the 25th Annual Fight for Children Night with the WBC United States National Welterweight Championship (“USNBC”) on the line. Flores, one of Roc Nation’s most promising prospects, has been in the game for some time but is now poised to take the next step towards a championship as he battles a tough Jaime Herrera (12-1-3 7 KOs) in a 10 round bout.

Flores of Aguadilla, Puerto Rico is currently in camp in Orlando, Florida and is training hard for his first title opportunity. Said Flores, “camp has been very good and we are working hard to bring home the victory to Puerto Rico.” The southpaw Flores is a come forward fan friendly fighter who describes himself as a power boxer that can box from the outside or rumble on the inside. His current record stands at an impressive 12-0 with 11 KOs. Having been sidelined previously with managerial issues, Flores is ready to increase his activity level and show that he is the best fighter in Roc Nation’s stable not named Miguel Cotto or Andre Ward. Flores feels the timing is right for him to break out and establish his own name. In Herrera, Flores is facing a battle- tested veteran who has victories over Patrick Boozer, Michael Finney and his biggest win to date when he stopped former world title challenger Mike Jones just 15 months ago. Said Flores of Herrera, “he’s a durable fighter, very strong. He likes to come forward and is not afraid to mix it up, which I like. We are preparing for a war and working hard to make sure that we come out victorious on November 5th.”

Fores is managed by boxing attorney Rick Torres of Victory Sports & Entertainment and noted boxing advisor Gaby Penagaricano. Said Torres, “we feel Chino is ready to take the next step and that he will soon be ready to challenge the best of the Welterweight division. We’re very appreciative of the opportunity that Roc Nation has given us and are confident Chino will deliver a title on November 5th; we’re also honored to take part in such a prestigious charity event in Washington DC and know that Chino is going to steal the show.”
