Wesley Ferrer Ready For National Television Debut Tonight On ShoBox: The New Generation Live On SHOWTIME®

New York (September 21, 2018) – Undefeated lightweight Wesley Ferrer is looking to make a big statement when he makes his national television debut against fellow undefeated Steven Ortiz in a co-featured bout of ShoBox: The New Generation tonight live on SHOWTIME (9:45 p.m. ET/PT).

Ferrer, 26 years-old of Brooklyn, has a record of 12-0 with seven knockouts.

“Training camp was great, and I am ready for fight night,” said Ferrer.

In Ortiz, Ferrer only knows that he is taking on an undefeated fighter who has a record of 8-0 with three knockouts from Philadelphia.

“I really do not know much about him. I just listen to my dad/coach, and he will give me the fight plan that I will execute on Friday night.”

Ferrer is ready to become a big name in boxing, and he knows that the ShoBox platform is a perfect opportunity to take his career to the next level.

“I feel great, and I am excited for me to showcase my talent on national television. I am ready, as this win is a springboard for my career. It will show my promoter, DiBella Entertainment, that I am ready for the next level. The fans will see that I can brawl or that I can box. I have been ready for this for a long time, and I can’t wait for Friday night.”

Ferrer’s manager, Felipe Gomez of El Matador Management, is equally excited for his fighter to show the boxing world that he is a legitimate contender in the lightweight division.

“I am happy that Wesley will be able to be showcased on a great platform like ShoBox,” said Felipe Gomez of El Matador Management. “He has faced very good competition, and now he is ready for the next step in career. I am very confident that he will put on a great performance on Friday night.”

Ferrer weighed in at 134 3/4 lbs while Ortiz was 134 1/2 at Thursday’s weigh in.

In the main event, Bryant Cruz will take on Moises Delgadillo in a lightweight bout scheduled for eight-rounds.

Cruz of Port Chester, New York has a record of 16-1 with eight knockouts. The 26 year-old turned professional in 2012 and won his first sixteen bouts.

Cruz has quality wins over Joshua Reyes (5-1) and he won the UBF All-American Lightweight title with a 2nd round stoppage over Engleberto Valenzuela. Cruz also has a solid win over Martin Cardona (20-5). In his last bout, Cruz suffered his first blemish when he was stopped in seven rounds by Dardan Zenunaj on December 11, 2015 in Houston, Texas.

Delgadillo of Guadalajara, Mexico has a record of 15-14-2 with eight knockouts. The 28 year-old is a twelve year veteran who has faced top competition. The capable Delgadillo has upset wins over Jose Ramirez (20-0) & Sergio Torres (19-4-1). Delgadillo has dropped two straight which includes his last bout when he dropped an eight-round unanimous decision to Bekman Soylbayev on Februar 18 in Costa Mesa, California.

In an eight-round junior middleweight bout, Alantez Fox (18-0-1, 7 KO’s) of Forestville, MD will take on Josue Obando (14-9-1, 11 KO’s) of Guadalajara. Mexico.

Billel Dib (18-1, 9 KO’s) of Sydney, Australia will make his much anticipated American debut when he takes on Jose Salinas (9-1-1, 5 KO’s) of Albuquerque, New Mexico in a lightweight bout scheduled for eight-rounds.

In a six-round welterweight bout undefeated Noel Murphy (5-0, 2 KO’s) of Woodlawn, New York battles Ariel Vasquez (11-12-2, 8 KO’s) of Phoenix, Arizona.

Stivens Bujaj (14-0-1, 9 KO’s) of New York takes on Harvey Jolly (15-22-1, 7 KO’s) of Nashville, Tennessee in a six-round cruiserweight battle.

Wesley Ferrer (10-0, 5 KO’s) of Brooklyn, New York takes on Luis Alberto Pelayo (12-6-1, 6 KO’s) of Guadalajara, Mexico in a six round junior welterweight bout.
