Undefeated Fighters Erick DeLeon and Eric Puente in Action Tonight in Costa Mesa, California

NEW YORK (March 23, 2019)-Two of Split-T Management’s undefeated fighters, Erick DeLeon and Eric Puente return to action tonight at The Hanger in Costa Mesa, California.

DeLeon (18-0-1, 10 KOs) of Detroit takes on Jose Luis Gallegos in a super featherweight bout.

DeLeon, who was a three-time National Golden Gloves Champion, will be making his 2019 debut. In 2018, DeLeon began to get on radar of many boxing insiders after impressive performances against Andy Vences (which was a disputed draw) and his last bout when he won a ten-round unanimous decision over Adrian Yung. In the battle, DeLeon fought nine-plus rounds with an injured shoulder.

In Gallegos, DeLeon is taking on an opponent who has a record of 16-5 with 12 knockouts. Gallegos holds a 3rd round stoppage over previously undefeated Juan Lopez Esparza.

Both DeLeon and Gallegos checked in at 131.4 lbs at Friday’s weigh-in.

Puente of Vista, California by way of Sinaloa, Mexico. Puente won the 2016 National Youth Open Championship, and was a member of Team USA. Puente was a favorite to be a member of the 2020 United States Olympic Team.

Puente turned professional on February 16th with a unanimous decision over Keith Carson.

The 19 year-old lightweight will take on Alejandro Lopez Huerta, who will be taking on his 5th consecutive undefeated opponent.

Puente weighed 133.8 lbs, while Lopez was 134.6 lbs. at Friday’s weigh-in.

The action kicks off at 6:30 p.m. ET
